Fun Fall Chicken

So recently I have been obsessed with the adorable little gnomes from Jaded Blossom. I don't really even like gnomes; they've always seemed a little creepy to me. But these little guys are just super cute. I ordered from Jaded Blossom and was totally impressed with their speed and service. The packing list even had a hand written thank you from the founders.

I didn't use a gnome this time, I just loved this single chicken sitting on the hay bale.

The Jaded Blossom challenge for this month is stripes so I had to work in stripes. This background paper is from Stampin' Up! Fall Catalog. It's from the Rustic Elegance Suite. You can order the paper or any of the other pieces from the suite here. A complete list of the products I used are below.

Card base is Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake mat, and a layer of Designer Series Paper.
Haybale and wheat stalks are Crushed Curry sponged with Crushed Curry ink. The binding is  Early Espresso. The basket is Crumb Cake sponged with Crumb Cake ink, and Early Espresso straps.
The chicken is constructed with Basic White, Real Red, and Pumpkin Pie. The apples in the basket are cut from Real Red as well. The sentiment is Basic White cardstock stamped with Early Espresso ink. The stamp set is Banner Year, a retired set. The cardstock and ink are all Stampin' Up!

All the pieces are cut with Jaded Blossom Dies: Farm Scenic Dies (chicken, wheat, and hay bale) and Fall Dies (basket and apples).

The little white accents are make with a Sakura Jelly Roll pen. I used the number 10 size.

 On a Scrapbooking binge

I finally got our wedding album done. Our 10th wedding anniversary is in November. When I planned our wedding I used Stampin' Up! colors. Easy to reproduce and make more of something if we needed it.

Raspberry Ripple, Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla

We had an awesome photographer Stacey Hamilton, well, Thompson now. You can find here at https://www.facebook.com/SMT-Photography-by-Stacey-Hamilton-135724619841295

She took some great candid snapshots as well as some really great stuff at the park.

Here are just a couple of the pages that I put together.

Title page is our rings in my bouquet. I made the bouquets using flowers from Hobby Lobby. By shopping carefully and timing the sales, I got most of our stuff on sale, at least half price! No one says you have to spend a fortune on your wedding!

The wedding party in the park. By the time we got to the photos in the park, it was around 4:30 and getting chilly! We girls were happy to get close.

The license was signed by our maid of honor and best man. Our best friends for life!

This isn't necessarily a creative post; it's a creature post.

We've had a groundhog move in under our deck. They aren't exactly terrible creatures, but they can be rather destructive. This one found a weak spot in the lattice work around the bottom of the deck and moved right in.

He's kinda cute in a "don't bother me I'm eating" kind of way.

We'll be relocating him as soon as we can.

In the meantime, I'll just enjoy watching him snack on leftover birdseeds.

I've started scrapbooking again after a long break. I have so many pictures (decades worth) that still need to be printed and scrapbooked. I started with strap albums but I'm leaning toward the pocket pages and 3-ring binder style albums. Since I don't have all my pictures printed and ready to go, I'm doing events rather than chronological scrapbooking.

So anyway, September 2014, my great-nephew was born. He is the first great great grandchild on my dad's side of the family. So it's kind of a big deal. I threw a party Labor Day weekend for him and my grandmother. Her birthday is September 6, so it worked out really well for a party.

We had a professional photographer do some Five Generation shots as well as group family pictures.

This page is still missing some items. I have an invitation that I made and I saved some of other things from the decorations. I am pretty sure I have them in a box ... Somewhere...

I did blue punch with little yellow ducks floating in it. Our local grocery store did the cupcakes with the coordinating icing.

I guess the point is, It's never too late to scrapbook those pictures. Some day some one will be grateful that you did.
